A Term, formerly a Semester, is called an Academic Period. An Academic Period is a formalized segment of time within an academic calendar with defined start and end dates. Each academic year, the iteration of an academic calendar offers an academic period. These periods can be configured with standard start/end dates or without standard start/end dates. WashU will use a semester-based calendar consisting of three academic periods (semesters/terms): Fall, Spring, and Summer.

The word Term will still be used in Canvas, displaying the Academic Period.

Before Workday

Term is displayed in multiple places across the Canvas UI. This example is from the Course Settings.
